Lucas Brum Big Band
The Lucas Brum Big Band was founded by Lucas Brum in Porto Alegre in 2021, bringing together a new generation of Brazilian jazz musicians in a classic large-ensemble formation. The band developed a repertoire combining original compositions with music by Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Sammy Nestico, Joe Henderson, Tom Jobim, João Bosco and Aldir Blanc. Its rehearsals and interpretations were built through a collaborative process, with the musicians contributing as performers, composers and arrangers. The ensemble performed regularly in Porto Alegre, including at Espaço 373, Sgt. Pepper’s and the city’s Noite dos Museus.
